Corresponding Secretary Fran Mendell "What did I get myself into?" were the words I spoke after mailing our temple membership application hours before learning of the fire destroying the temple on Thames Street. Well, after being a member for 48 years I can say I got myself into something wonderful. A group of caring and genuine people, who look out for one another in good and bad times. I have served as fundraising chairperson, organizing community-wide progressive dinners, and bringing fun to fundraising. My children have experienced life cycle events at the Temple, including their bar and bat mitzvahs and a wedding and my husband Mike has served as our president twice.
